Constellation(Group exhibition)

18 Feb – 5 May 2023 @ Yuan Art Museum, Chongqing, China.

22 July – 1 Sep 2023 @Being Art Museum, Shanghai, China

“The term “Constellation” in the title of the exhibition is derived from Walter Benjamin and is a key concept in his philosophy of history. Benjamin first introduced this concept in “The Origin of German Tragic Drama.” He creatively used the term “Constellation” to illustrate the unique structural arrangement of ideas (Idee).

A constellation refers to an assemblage formed by various elements, where each element is independent of the others. They come together in a free-form combination to collectively present the non-stable state of the assemblage, forming a coexistence filled with heterogeneous tension.

After approaching the root causes of the issue in various forms, the forces of our coexistence will seek a new future within the crisis. We will open up questions, understand differences, and embrace diversity. Through these disputes, we will rediscover our positions.

The Earth will no longer remain silent and chaotic. Each person’s understanding of nature will no longer be limited to “one Earth.” People will belong to different planets characterized by unique traits or burdens. They will strive to imagine or attempt to construct temporary forms of new universality in novel ways.“
